One of our favorite opportunities in Florida
is ministering in various senior adult ministries. In the photo to the right, Alan is singing at the
Sensational Seniors
meeting at the
Lockhart Baptist Church
in Orlando. Marilyn Logan and her sweet seniors
allow us to minister there nearly every winter. There are always
visitors from various churches as well as those who are not church
members. These are imporant opportunities to present the Gospel to
those that are lost as well as encourage these senior saints.
While we minister in various venues and
churches of all sizes, we have always
had a special burden for smaller churches.
In the photo on the left Alan prays with
several of the members of the
Crossroads Baptist Church in
Mobile, Alabama, during a
two-day
meeting in April. What a sweet time we
had as the people responded to the challenges from
God's Word. Some of these dear folks even put in MANY hours to help us
scrub our trailer by hand. Inch by inch was the only way we could
remove a spray of some unknown, very adhesive "stuff" that had covered
our entire trailer on our way to their church.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
God has been using Andrew to touch hearts
everywhere we go. People are challenged as well as
encouraged when they see a young person who is serious about his
faith. In the photo on the right,
Andrew presents the message for the Sunday evening service at the Liberty Baptist Church in Alexander City, Alabama. Perhaps some
of you have heard of an object lesson made popular by
Adrian Despres, "The Four Chairs." This lesson had a huge impact
on Andrew, and he has been sharing this impactful message as the
opportunity presents itself.
The last Sunday in April we
enjoyed ministering with
Pastor
Joe Lee and the Hilltop
Baptist Church in Indiana,
Pennsylvania. Pastor Lee
and his wife were such a
blessing to our family during our
stay in Indiana. We were
originally scheduled for Sunday, but ended up doing
two additional services later in the week. In the photo on the
left, we are shown with the wonderful
Hilltop Baptist Senior Adult group.
When
Alan first started in full-time itinerate evangelism, extended meetings
made up a large percentage of our schedule. However, over the
years many churches are no longer holding revival meetings. They
are still our favorite type of meeting. When people take the time to sit
under God's Word on a continued basis, great things always
happen. In the photo above we are joined by Pastor Robert Dunn and
his wife Paulette. Bro. Dunn is the pastor of Grace Community Church in
Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, where we held a revival meeting May
6-9. The Dunn's reported recently that they
have had many
comments from those who attended who speak of renewed devotion to their
spiritual walk and how they have been encouraged and blessed. We
have had the privilege of partnering with Pastor Dunn each year for the
past few years. It is such a blessing to see spiritual growth in
various members from year to year.
