As I read this chapter, I am once again amazed at the mercy and forgiveness of God. Pagan atrocities had become the accepted lifestyle with a proud and hypocritical nod toward God as the people came to the house of the Lord. Yet, God wanted them back. He sent Jeremiah to plead with them to come back to Him with promise of total forgiveness and restoration. How deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure, that He should give His only Son to make a wretch (ME!) His treasure.....
